Data centers utilize a significant amount of energy and more and more of them are popping up every day to handle all of our digital storage needs. While lighting doesn't account for the majority of a data center's energy usage, it is still a significant enough not to overlook. The latest recommendations from the TIA (Telecommunication Industry’s Association) recommend for LED lighting with "Follow Me" lighting controls and sensors that allow for light to only turn on in when workers are present. The bottom line? For anyone interested in maximizing Power Utilization Effectiveness (PUE) in their data center, LED fixtures are a must.
